This is the first video I ever did, as a surprise Naudi brings a camera in and puts us to the test. Unfortunately it was the first time of the guy who was filming too. Nevertheless this video contains lots of great information of a myofascial release of the glute medius.
The glute medius gets easily over-stimulated from lateral hip movement during gait and due to lack of activation from the glute maximus. Many people who suffer from sciatic pain, including myself, find that by releasing the gluteus medius you will get an instant pain relief and improve neuromuscular recruitment of the gluteus maximus.
You can perform this release with a tennis ball or lacross ball, or even a PVC pipe. Remember to release intentionally, not habitually!
